Brixham Town Presentation Night 9th June 2023

At the end of every season clubs hold their presentation nights. Trophies are awarded for such things as top goal scorer, manager’s player of the season, player’s player of the season and many more.

A time for everyone at the club to get together and enjoy a good evening where they can not only look back of the last season, but look forward to the next one.

I have seen a number of what I considered good clubs fold over the years and sadly in some cases it came down to no more than who ended up as custodians of the club.

A club needs a good beating heart and that is what Brixham Town have in Shaun Langdon, his drive, passion and desire to make Brixham Town the best club it can be, is there for all to see.

This is a club that only reformed three years ago and has been on the up from day one and is only going to get bigger and stronger.

I listened as Shaun addressed all the members of his club, it was clear his whole heart is in Brixham Town and will lead the club to greater things.

But let’s not forget all the others who make up the backroom team who also share Shaun’s dreams and the players who have worn their Brixham Town shirts with pride. A great bunch of lads who have given me much pleasure when ever I have seen them play. Ben the right hand man who takes so much of the load of Shaun on match days and I know Shaun feels lucky to have him by his side.

With any luck the club will play their football at their JC Park ground this season, their own home and a ground they have worked so hard on. This has not happened by accident; just the drive and desire by those running the club and they all should pat themselves on the back.

Local football does not need to die; it just needs the right people in it. Strong determined people with a vision and a dream and that is just what Brixham Town have.
