Jordan Wyatt Memorial Match & Fund Raiser
A day for all the loved ones, family and friends of Jordan to come together and show just how much this young man was loved and liked and will be missed. I did not know Jordan personally, but like so many I followed the daily updates when he went missing and hoped and prayed he would find his way home safe and sound.
Losing a loved one is so very painful, even more so when that loved one still had so much life in front of them. So many mixed emotions to deal with, heartbreak, sadness, anger, disbelief, despair, guilt and loneliness are just a few. Asking questions that answers may never be found for, a wound that will never fully heal but somehow we have to learn how to live with it.
But today we can put all those emotions to one side as we all come together to celebrate the life of this wonderful popular young man. A time to remember all those memories that were made and to hold onto them tightly. A time to show the world just how much Jordan was loved and how life will never be the same without him. Jordan will live on in everyone’s hearts and will be remembered for the good guy he really was.
Jordan made a real name for himself and was very well respected among the security industry in Devon, having worked in places like Torquay, Exeter and Taunton to name a few. Jordan was also a devoted and caring father to Mason (7) and Scarlett (4) his kids where his world and it was clear to everyone how much he loved them and they loved him.
Words From Jordan's Sister Danni Wyatt
What many don’t know about my big brother is that he was a huge influence in helping me join my first Women’s team, heck if it wasn’t for him i might not be playing Women’s football today. When we were teenagers we’d play football down the courts on Lymington Road and he’d be the first to run home and tell my dad “Danni’s really good dad, she should be playing for a team”. On and on he went and he wouldn’t let it budge. He convinced me to look at local teams and promised it was the right choice.
When I was 17/18 I signed for Plainmoor Ladies and I’ll never forget my first game glancing over to the side of the pitch and seeing my big brother and Dad standing there, like a lemons can i add. but he was there and he was there for many more after that. He was so proud to watch me go on and play for Torquay United and take on my role as club captain, 10 years on he’d go on to bring down his beautiful children to watch me play & I’ll forever miss his presence & I’ll continue on for him.
Thank you big bro. For always believing in me. Your lil sis – Dan xxx
All funds raised today will help support Jordan’s family at this very difficult time. Many thanks to Danni for your heartfelt message. Thanks also to Johnny Desa for organising this event and Barton Athletic.

Final Score The Wyatt XI 3 The Barton XI 1
This will not be one of my usual detailed match reports, but my thoughts about the day and a little about the match itself.
The weather did its best to behave itself, no rain fell at all, but we all had a very strong wind to deal with. It was a real pleasure to talk with Jordan’s sister today and she did start in the match. I can see just what Jordan saw all those years ago and I know he was cheering her on from above today.
Dave Rich what a gentleman he is and what a lovely thing he did on behave of Barton Athletic, presenting Denni with a bunch of flowers before the game.
The game was due to kick-off at 2pm, but by 1.40pm all the lads just wanted to get on with it, a few late arrivals therefore missed the very start of the match. A minute’s applause took place before the kick-off for Jordan.
Barton treated the game as a proper preseason friendly and they played really well in the first half. It was only down to a number of smart saves by the Wyatt’s XI goal keeper they did not establish a first half lead.
The wind did play a big part in the game itself, so much of the play ended up on the far side of the pitch and those long through balls always carried to far in the wind.
But it was still a very completive game of football and I saw enough to see that Barton will enjoy a much better 2023/2024 season.
The first half ended up goalless and both sides changed a number of players for the second half. It was good to see Dave Rich roll back the years and put in a good defensive performance.
The Wyatt XI scored the first goal after winning a free kick. The ball was fired towards the back post and knocked in. Barton playing up the slope towards the Acorn Centre were not really able to create the same sort of chances they managed in the first half.
The Wyatt XI made it two goals to nil after one of their players made a very strong run from the midfield. As he got close the Barton box he played an inch perfect pass to one of his fellow players who stroked the ball past the Barton keeper.
The wind played a big part in the Wyatt’s XI third goal. The ball was fired high into the Barton box from the right hand side of the pitch. The keeper came out to punch the ball clear but missed it and the ball ended up dropping to a Wyatt player to fire home.
Barton deserved something out of the match and they finally got their reward. A great run by a Barton player saw him end up in the box. His first effort of goal was blocked, but the ball came back to him and he made no mistake with is second attempt.
A big well done to everyone concerned with today’s game, it looked like a great deal of money was raised today( will add total if I get it) but very importantly a good turnout of people family and friends all there to show their love of Jordan, may he rest in peace.
