Bovey Tracey V Buckland 22nd April 2011
Last Friday I watched Buckland’s game at home, on Saturday I watched Ants game and then on Sunday watched his Plainmoor Ladies match. On Wednesday night I watched Ant play again for Marldon and last night I was up at Coach Road with Ant watching a cup final between the Bay Ladies against Stoke Gabriel Ladies
Today he took me out to watch the game between Bovey Tracey against Buckland and what an enjoyable time I have had. Mind you when I left the Bay the sun was out and so I went out in just a tea shirt and about 15 minutes before the game was due to kick-off, rain started falling. It only last about half and hour or so and the game ended up being played in warm sunshine.
The first half started and Buckland completely dominated it, they really should have gone in at half time leading by at least four or five goals, but only managed to put two of the many chances they created.
Headers were going over the bar and shots going just wide before that man Lynch got two goals, both were headers. The first one he got injured and it looks to me looking at the pictures I took, he got the keepers fist in his face.
It looked like there might be a Bovey comeback in the second half when they scored an early goal themselves. Ant and I had moved from the halfway line to behind the Bovey goal and I could clearly hear the keeper shout the ball was his. Ant said it sailed over him and into the net.
Buckland soon made it three one with another Lynch goal, the keeper had made a save but only managed to push the ball out and wide of his left hand post. Lynch hit a sweet volley from a tight angle to get his third goal.
Buckland made the game save with another goal from Lynch, this time he found the ball at his feet only a few yards out bang in the centre of the goalmouth, it was a simple tap in.
With the news that Bodmin dropped two points today, a win for Buckland on Monday will see them end up as the champions of the league
