Buckland start their 2nd season in the Western league with a home fixture against Bristol based Bitton afc at Homers Heath with A 3.00 kick off. Bitton did the double on us last season winning here at the heath by 1-0 and beat us on their home patch 2-0. Pre season has gone well with some good performances and some poor for Buckland but this is what pre season is all about., to get back to match fitness. Squad news Gavin picked up a ankle injury in their last friendly and Jordan picked up a hamstring strain, but came off as a precautionary measure. but apart from these, Adam has a full strength squad apart for Kenny Griffiths who is away at a wedding. Looking forward to the new season and a top 6 finnish would be an improvement on last year.
Best wishes to the lads and to Adam on his first full season in the Western league,
Buckland gull..

Excellent game at the Heath today with Buckland beating Bitton 2-0 112 people watched 2 fully commited teams play for 90 minutes m Booth scored from 18yards early on which took a small deflection as it hit the Bitton net. New signing Ellis Leight got the second from close range as a scramble in the 6 yard box, Dan gritthis and Marc Revell had excellent games but my man of the match was little terrier Ben Carter in the middle of the mid field. A great start to the new season by the yellows. Onto Tuesday away to Ilfracombe. dont know if im going yet.

Thanks for the report Bucklandgull and so sorry I was unable to make the match myself. I had planned to but needed to finish off a job I was doing at home and sadly did not get it finished in time.
A great result and one I hope the team can build on and I'm sure the players with have gained so much confidence to take into their next fixture.
