Well it would be wonderful If Buckland could win their second game of the season after such a fine win last Saturday. A draw would not be a bad result mind you for the team after having to travel a fair old way on a Tuesday evening.
Look forward to reading your thoughts on the game on Wednesday.

Ilfracombe 0 Buckland 5
Buckland put in a five goal star performance away at Ilfracombe last night, Buckland were keen to follow up on Saturdays fine win. Ilfracombe started the brighter side and for the first 30 minutes Buckland found it difficult to make progress into the final third of the pitch. Bucklands defence were coping well with the waves of attacks from the blues with Chris Lanyon looking confident in the Bucks goal. The opening goal of the game came when Dan Griffiths was put in by a good through ball, Griff ran into the box and fired a shot just inside the upright to the keepers right this was definetly agaist the run of play. Five minutes later Jamie Micklewright was brought down in the box the referee pointed to the spot, Captain Gaze took the kick and he blasted the ball home. Adam Castle must have been pleased with his team performance. The second half began and Buckland stated to produce some fast flowing football that left Ilfracombe chasing shadows, somehow Griff was out on the right he cut inside and fired in an unsopable shot high into the top of the goal 3-0 Micklewright then got his name on the score sheetwith a low drive which crept inside the upright to make it 4-0 Changes were made with Si Revell Lucas Burgess and Jordan Havlin all coming on Si went on one of his mazy runs he crossed the ball to the far post where Ellis Laight got his second goal, in a Bucks shirt with a well directed header 5-0 Ilfracombe were deflated but any rare attacks were easily coped with by the back four who have kept two clean sheets. Buckland saw out time and the 3 points were heading back to South Devon. Around 30 Buckland fans made the journey up North! but they would have the Knowledge that their teams second half performance was almost as perfect as you could get. My mom Dan Griffithis whose brace of goals started the yellows off on a great performance F A Cup against Wells on Sat 3.00 ko Nice to see the players applaud the Buckland fans at the end of the match.
Adam Castle Yellow army!!!

Many thanks for your excellent match report Bucklandgull. What a fantastic result and not one anyone would have predicted for sure. Really pleased not only for the players but also Adam Castle as there were some who felt very wrongly in my view, he could not make the step up to first team manager. He has also proved some wrong with his team building and he most certainly knows how to get the best out of his players.
In a number of preseason games I have felt Buckland has taken some time to get going and so often not looking the better of the two sides early on. But as the first halves have worn on, Buckland get their act together and have looked such a good side in the second half.
It’s far to early in the season to start getting carried away and predicting Buckland for the a top table finish, but they could not have wished for a better start to the new season and lets hope they can stay in winning mode.
The defence looks solid and there is plenty of hard work done in the midfield and its also very clear the team has goal scorers in it. I have a very good feeling that Buckland are going to enjoy a very good season and lets also hope they do well in all the cup competitions.
