Buckland Athletic start their FA Cup journey for another season, hoping to replicate last seasons extremely profitable run.
Last year Buckland beat Bridport and Plymouth Parkway before going out to Bath City which was a day to remember for the yellows where 369 attended an exciting match at the Heath.
In this years competition Buckland have been drawn at home against Wells City with a 3.00 ko Wells play their football one league below us after getting relegated last season.
Should be another great day for Buckland Athletic and another page in the history can be written.

Unable to get to the match due to family tuning up unexpectedly late this morning. Its seems the dreams are over of a nice cup run as Buckland were beaten by the lower league side by three goals to nil. After putting five goals away in their last league match that was an away fixture, one wonders why Buckland failed to score today.
The conditions for the match must have been horrible due to the wind and the rain, but I have read that the lads just did not seem up for this match. Not to worry as while a good cup run would have helped the clubs finances, it can now fully concentrate on trying to maintain its excellent start to its league campaign.
Hopefully Bucklandgull will write a report once he has got over the shock of Buckland losing what looked on paper at least, a very winnable game.

Buckland will have to wait another year to emulate last seasons fine run.
Much like Tuesday game the home team had most of the ball but could not really trouble the blues keeper, just before the half time a mistake in the back four let a Wells player shoot into a ungarded net with Kenny stuck in no mans land.
Buckland came out in the second half with a little more purpose but Wells played on the counter attack and from one of these attacks scored a deserved second goal.
Buckland were running out of ideas and it was no surprise when they scored the best goal of the game with a fast flowing move.
Conditions were poor but they were the same for both teams, and at the end of the day it will be Wells who be at home against Bodmin in the next round.
Well done to Wells cant see them being bottom of the first division for too much longer if they continue to play like they did today
Roll on Wednesday when the yellows are at home to Gillingham 7.45 kickoff.

Thanks for your report Bucklandgull, seems the lads did not play so badly after all and maybe should have got something from this game. While it would have been nice to have won the game and progressed to the next round, Buckland were never going to ever win the cup and can now concentrate on the league.
Still feel that Buckland will enjoy a good season and could even end up as champions.
