Buckland Athletic return to Homers Heath, looking to carry on from Tuesday`s fine result, against Winterbourne United who come from the outskirts of Bristol. Last season Buckland gained a win at Winterborne winning 2-1, but when the opposition came to the Heath they beat us 1-0 Should be another good match(as always) with the bar open and Piggys Pantry open all afternoon.

Good luck to the boys today it should be a very good match and I only wish I could be there, that is as long as all the wasps have gone lol. I'm covering the Brixham AFC match today and looking forward to it. hoping for a good Buckland win and I'm sure that will happen after the recent improvements in the players performances.

Buckland Athletic 3 Winterbourne 2
Buckland will play a lot better and lose, this was not one of their better performances, but at the end of the day the 3 points gained have moved Buckland up to third in the table.
Winterbourne took an early lead in the 10 minute when Ben Dowdell scored, this seemed to wake Bucks up, and soon they were on equal terms with a classic strike from Lam Mcauley from the edge of the penalty box, his shot looked to be going over but dipped at the last moment and went just under the bar.
The second half began with most of the play in the middle of the pitch with not many clear openings but Booth got an important touch close in when Alex Jeannin shot was going towards the goal, this was in the 52nd minute.but Buckland conceeded again on 64minutes when Bourne scored again.
With a draw looking likely Mike Booth got his second with a shot from the edge of the box, the away keeper dived over the top of the ball which ended up in the back of the net.
Not the best of games to watch, on a very dry pitch could do with some rain to bring some zip into it.

Many thanks for your report Bucklandgull. Football is a results based games and while we football lovers want to see our team play wonderfully, at the end of the day it’s all about winning or losing. Football is a funny old game and how many times have I seen the better team on the day lose the match.
The important thing is that Buckland are back to winning ways and hopefully can carry on in this fashion and remain near the top of the table. There is a very long way still to go in this season and yes Buckland will play much better and lose, but on the whole Buckland have a very good side full of players who will give everything they have got for the whole ninety minutes and as long as keep playing that way, they should win far more games than they will lose.
Hope to be at the Heath soon, ( got to get the programmes back to the chairman) but might need a report of the wasp situation first lol
