Buckland Athletc 3 Bridport 3
A game that we could have won but nearly ended up with nothing.
Buckland fell behind to a goal in the first two minutes when Bucklands defence failed to clear a cross from the right and Ryan Dowell headed home where he had a free heder 8 yards out.
Buckland came back into the game when a great shot from Lucas Burgess gave Ashley Weeks little chance from the edge of the box.
Not to be out done fellow striker Gavin Hammon did exactly the same as Burgess and put the ball into the same top corner, to give the yellows the lead.
Buckland then gave away a goal when keeper Kenny Griffithis sliced his clearance, the ball fell to Matt Condliffe who followed the ball into the net, 2-2 in this exchange Griffithis took a knock on his shoulder and failed to re-emerge from the changing room following the break. With no sub goal keeper Sub Liam Mcauley went in between the sticks for the second half.
The Bees took the lead when a quick taken free kick on the half way line was fed into the middle and Ryan Dowell got his second for the night when he fired low into the net giving Liam little chance 2-3 Buckland switched off as the kick was taken quickly.
Buckland continued to press forward and with 90+5 minutes on the clock a long range free kick from the stand in keeper was pumped forward and with lots of bodies in the box it looked like Rob Farkins got the final touch as the ball ended up in the net, this was no more than the yellows deserved 3-3 but we must stop giving stupid goals away, onwards to Saturday where Saltash are the visitors in the FA Vase a must win game.

I'm Sure Adam Castle would have been more than happy to take four points of Bridport if that had been offered him before the start of the season. Yes six would have been much better but to lose your keeper at halftime and still get a point from the match has to be a result in my book.
Buckland have been guilty of giving away one or two soft goals this season and also been guilty of not always being fully switched on as was the case it sounds, for Bridports third goal.
No real surprise Buckland got a late equaliser, the lads never know when they are beaten and always fight to the end.
