Buckland Athletic play reigning league champions Bishop Sutton on Saturday at Homers Heath with a 3.00 pm kick off. Bishop Sutton won the toolstation western league last season, but this season have found life difficult, after their entire squad plus management all uprooted and went accross Bristol and joined Bristol Manor Farm, the reason given,Bishop Sutton did not want to progress up the pyramid system, where as Farm would like to progress.
Praise must go to Bishop Sutton who have got a team together to fulfill their fixtures.they were beaten on Saturday for the fourteenth time in this league campaign and remain rooted to the bottom of the premier table. To date they have played 18 winning three scoring sixteen and conceeding forty -nine.
Last season Buckland Athletic played Bishop Sutton back in August and fought out a creditable draw with Mike Booth and Gavin Hammon scoring at hte Heath. Away Buckland went down 2-0
Team News
Kenny Griffiths remains sidelined but Chris Lanyon showed that he is a ready made replacement after his Man of the match award against Willand in the cup on Wednesday.Gavin Hammon will be missing for two to three months after having his operation to his foot this week.
Dan Griffiths was rested for the Willand match so he might make a comeback this weekend.
In defence new signing Kai Fisher was showing some fine form in his home debut but after a tackle he made,he came out second best and was replaced at half time against Willand, but Ben Head had a strong second half along side the Frenchman Jeannin.
This will be a good chance for the yellows to get a run together. but difficult games at home to top sides Larkall, Street and Bristol Manor Farm are the next three home fixtures.
