When I drive home along the ring road heading home from work, I always see the signs for Occombe Farm near the Preston turning. While I knew it was a working farm that was free to visit, I just thought it was just a farm shop with a café.
This morning I was looking for a wood to go and explore and in my search on line Occombe farm came up. My plan was to park there and try and find the way into Scadson Wood but after parking the car changed my mind and headed for the Occombe Farm nature trail.
The trail is only 2k long and mostly flat so its very easy to walk around. It was rather warm in the Bay this afternoon so in the end this walk was plenty far enough. After having my shot of the squirrel in Primley Woods ruined last week, I was so pleased to get some great shots of one today.
For those who may not know, Occombe Farm is part of the Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust, a registered charity that exists to protect and care for over 1700 acres of Torbay's stunning green and coastal spaces
All being well I’m planning to take a tour of Forde House in Newton Abbot tomorrow afternoon, I hope I will be allowed to take some shots of the inside.
