I would like to offer my congratulations to Stoke Gabriel Football Club for becoming the Champions of the Peninsula Division One East this season. Next season the club will be playing the Premier League and once again will do battle against some of the best teams in Cornwall and Devon.
The club is now in a far better and healthier state with a top management team than they were the last time they won promotion to the Premier League. As a direct result of that, Stoke will go into next season ready and able to take on the new challenge.
After two disastrous seasons in the Premier League, the turn around in the fortunes out on the pitch for the club this season has been amazing. It has been through the determination from the chairman right down to the nice lady who runs the canteen that has seen Stoke regain their rightful place in the Premier League.
The management, players and everyone else associated with the club all deserve a very big pat on the back along with the loyal supporters who have enjoyed a season to remember.
