I am beginning to think the man who does the work rota must check the weather forecast and pick all the wet days for me to have off. I really do not like this time of the year, such a lack of natures wonderful colours and either very cold or just damp and wet.
Low lighting is also another problem with winter and while my DSLR has no problem with that, the camera on my drone while pretty good, does not fare so well. But I had three batteries charged up from Sunday and they needed to be used for the sake of their own health and I had to wait for a break in the rain and drizzle to go out and run them down.
It was rather windy at Broadsands and not really suitable for carrying on my leaning curve as far as flying the drone is concerned, but I knew the drone would do its best to hold any position it was in thanks to its onboard GPS.
In view of the conditions I did not have the confidence to fly the drone very far out over the sea, I am sure in time and after many more flights that will change. I also need to start not relying so much on the return to home button and fly the drone back to me myself and that is something I will start doing when the weather improves.
I know the sort of shots I want to capture using the drone, I also have a number of locations in mind where I can get those shots, but I also know as far as the drone is concerned, I need to learn to walk before I can run.
