Oyster Cove From Above 3rd February 2019 They say what a difference a day makes and as far as yesterday and today are concerned, there are no truer words. Yesterday I was stuck in snow blocking the way in and out of North Bovey for nearly an hour. Today I was enjoying the winter sunshine close to Oyster Cove.
For now at least it seems my DLSR camera is having to take a back seat to my newly acquired drone and that might continue for a while yet. It is just so fascinating seeing places I know so well from up in the clouds and being able to capture that image.
For the price I paid for this my fist drone, I am very happy with it, having GPS onboard and being able to press a button to tell it to return to home, gives me a degree of confidence flying it. The plan was to buy a much more expensive drone if I took to this new hobby, but as I am more than happy with the images I have got so far, I think I will stick with this drone for the foreseeable future.
I bought a specially made backpack for it and it is very light to carry around and I think when the better weather comes, I will take out both my DSLR and the drone with me. That way I will be able to capture the view from the ground and also from above and I have a number of places in mind to visit this year.
I have been pleased that a number of people who have approached me while out flying the drone, took a real interest in what I was doing in a very positive way, for me it is only about one thing, trying to take interesting photos.
