Aller Brook Revisited 9 years Later 12th September 2019
It has been a while since I have been out and about with my camera, work is one reason and taking the drone out instead has been the other one. I had to take Lyn’s car for an MOT and service today in Newton Abbot and thought I would do a walk while I was waiting.
I had not planned to do a walk I did nine years ago on the 13th September 2010 and I am not really sure how I ended up doing today. Was I drawn to Aller Brook to relive what happened nine years ago?
That day true to form I got into a right pickle and had to be rescued by my late wife Carol, you can read the whole story of that day on the link below.

I know a few other people who have become widowed and some of them are unable to visit any place they went to with their wife or husband. It has never been a problem for me as these places are just full of so many happy memories and being there again I simply relive them all.
Unlike my last visit I stayed on the solid pathway and kept away from the waters edge. The tide was in anyway so there was no soft mud around for me to get stuck in. I had waited at the garage for the MOT to be done and only left to do the walk when they were about to service the car.
I had told the boys at the garage that lunch would be on me and I would be back in an hour and a half, this meant walking for forty five minutes before turning around. I would have liked to have walked a bit further than I did, but then I am not so sure my legs would really agree with that statement.
It is not the cleanest of walks to do and someway along you hit a very smelly patch as I believe there is a sewage plant behind the hedge. But once past that point the air improves as does the views.
Standing under the viaduct over the River Teign that we have all driven over hundreds of times you get to see the pillars it is built on, it also seems much narrower than it does while driving over it.
It was just so good to get some free time to get out and enjoy what I like doing best, who ever invented work? They need bloody shooting.
